“My husband is in the Army and we were moved to Ft. Meade, Maryland a year after I had my 3 child. This is important because I started feeling a little down. Missing my family and friends, and my kids were having a hard time adjusting to the new school.
My sister use to play with polymer clay when she was little and she was expecting her first child (she is 8 years younger then me) So I thought I would try to make a little figure for her as a gift. I had never used polymer clay before or even taken ART classes. I didn’t even know how much I would LOVE it. I felt free, creative, happy, and excited about things again. I didn’t realize that ART is everywhere and in everything.
After I made the little figure, which is not that good mind you, people started asking me about making their families, pets, Nativity Sets, then wedding cake toppers and so on. So I started my website www.sculpturesbyem.com .
This is something I can do with my children at home. They love to create art projects with me. So we have fun together.”
