A: Raffinata is a MODEST Woman’s Apparel Boutique. We sell about 50% Daywear and 50% Eveningwear/Formalwear. We carry several different lines of clothing, including Mikarose. Everything we offer assists our customers in creating a MODEST, REFINED, BEAUTIFUL and STLISH wardrobe. We don’t believe in being modestly frumpy, just modestly fashionable! We have everything from layering basics (camis, tanks, capsleeve shirts, etc.), skirts, shirts, dresses, to short formals and long formals and shrugs.

Q: What is the best way for people to look at your merchandise? Website? Etc?

A: I love owning Raffinata because modest style is a passion for me. I love to see customers walk out with gorgeous clothes that are also modest.

Check out Fit For A Queen! They are a Boutique located in Tennessee that sells MIKAROSE! We would love to tell you more about them in our interview with the Boutique Owner!

2012-08-10 14.36.03

Q: Tell us a little bit about yourself and where your business is based.

A: Our store, Fit For A Queen,  is in the East Brainerd area of Chattanooga, Tennessee. We are very close to the Georgia state line as well as not too far from the Alabama state line.

My husband and I operate the boutique together, we both moved from Orlando Florida in 2008 to pursue our dream of opening a small business. My husband worked at Walt Disney World for over 15 years in retail and customer service and I was a professional Chef for 20 years  but also worked in sales and customer service areas. When I had to give up my chef career because I could  not physically  stand for more than two hours without severe pain in my feet due to fallen arches, I had to find another area I felt passionate about.  As a chef I wore uniforms every day, not very glamorous, but I loved clothing and stylish thing since I was about twelve years old. I had many challenges getting clothing that fit me as I was a larger size than most girls as well as 5′ 8″ tall at that age. I think it was more a passion that grew out of necessity, I wanted to look pretty and dress similar to other girls, so I hunted down items of clothing that were unconventional  that I could make an outfit from. I borrowed dress shirts from my Dad’s closet, cinching them with stretch belts I made from crocheting elastic cording.

2012-08-10 14.42.36

Q: What is your boutique? What kinds of items do you sell?

A: The main focus of our store is Clothing from sizes 8-24+. We have a lot of dresses to take you from the office to a cocktail party, some formal gowns and Mother of the bride outfits. We do a lot of special orders from catalogs that offer dressy church wear to pageant type dresses.  We also sell  Art-To-Wear clothing which feature a lot of hand dyed garments and organic fabrics. Our separates feature bright colors and well-fitting jackets and tops. We do have some select shoes for summer, sandals and flip flops, a small mix of fashion jewelry, scarves, and handbags.

Q: What is the best way for people to look at your merchandise? Website? Etc?

A: The best way to see our selections is always going to be in person, our website features less than 10% of what we have in our location.

2012-09-05 14.06.37

Q: What do you enjoy most about running a boutique/business?

A: It lets us run our business according to our principles and not someone else’s corporate idea. I love to help women feel fabulous about themselves because they feel beautiful in their clothes they buy from our boutique.

Q: What do you like about Mikarose Clothing?

A: Mikarose offers our customers modesty with still being very fashionable and comfortable, it has been working for customers tired of having to wear multiple layers of clothing because many of the necklines are way too low cut.

We have our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/fitforaqueenboutique and our website at www.fitforaqueenclothing.com

My name is Tracy Peck.   I’ve owned Lillians of Anoka for two years and absolutely love my job!  I’m an empty nester with three grown daughters who love to shop and dress trendy, like their mother!!!  I grew up in a small town in Iowa, so when the opportunity to own my own boutique in the small river town of Anoka, Minneota arose, I jumped at it… The best part about owning your own business is the interaction with your customers,  selecting your own merchandise to fit their wants and needs, and the enjoyment of their excitement in finding a trendy, hip shoppe that is packed full of sparkle and pizzazz!!!  One of our vendors that brings this excitement to my shoppe is Milarose.   Their style is fun, funky, comfortable, affordable and great quality.   Having their merchandise in my shoppe is a win-win for everyone involved.  THANKS MIKAROSE!!!!!

Alexandria’s message of “easy to get to, hard to leave” translates well to “easy to love, hard to forget.” Lillians combines the perfect ingredients that women have been waiting for; a high-touch and fun shopping experience like no other.  Walk into Lillians and you will hear bells ringing, women applauding and yelling ‘full punch card!’, or even ‘Man in the store!’ What’s not to love about bells going off, one purchase at a time, as someone cashes in their Lillians punch card for FREE merchandise? You’ll find hot coffee and sweet treats while Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra serenade you. The volume between the beloved crooners and the Lillians shoppers can be difficult to divide, but when the day is done, “That’s Amore” and “I’ve Got the World on a String” seems appropriate when asked to describe the Lillians experience.  “Indulge in the little things!” Treat yourself to a Lillians Party! Complete with all the affordable retail indulgences you crave! We’re always hip, and we’re always affordable! Lillians features ridiculously affordable fashion, handbags, jewelry, sunglasses, scarves, and other fun “must have” accessories – great fashion and accessory labels.I love the range of sizes and the fact that it is open stock.  I also love the length of the skirts and dresses. It is very rewarding when you make someone happy about themselves and you can see it in their “happy dance”.

Lillians of St. Charles is located on Historic Main Street in downtown St. Charles – just a few doors down from the First Missouri State Capitol Building. Owned by sisters-in-law Beth Mohr and Lynn Frazier, we opened in June 2011 and moved to a bigger location on the same block in March of 2013. Main Street is the home of numerous festivals and is frequented by travelers who love the charm and history of the area. We are a women’s boutique specializing in fun and affordable apparel, handbags, and numerous accessories. Meeting new people everyday while also getting the chance to get to know our local repeat customers. The quality is excellent, the sizing is accurate, and the styles are flattering for most women. We are open Saturday year-round and numerous additional days during the busy summer and holiday seasons.
